Hiawassee River Camps offers riverfront cabins located directly on the Hiawassee River as well as mountain view cabins that also have access to the river. Activities include biking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, kayaking, tubing, guided fishing, Harrah's Casino, cinemas, snow skiing available in Maggie Valley and Sapphire Valley areas. Boating and swimming is great on the lake. Fish in the rivers for Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout or in the lake for Bream, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Salmon. There are several waterfalls in the area to hike to or hike the famous Appalachian Trail located within just minutes. Hike to Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest elevation at 4,784 feet above sea level. Go Whitewater Rafting on the Nantahala, Ocoee, or Chattooga River, all located within an hour or less. Explore the area or just relax. Activities
Brasstown Bald is Georgia's highest elevation at 4,784 feet above sea level. Brasstown Bald has four great hiking trails to choose from ranging from a 1/2 mile to 6 miles, one being to the Brasstown Bald Visitors Center where you can learn about the history of the mountain through exhibits and video presentations. On clear days, the spectacular 360 degree view allows you to see four states: Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Brasstown Bald is located within just 15 minutes of Hiawassee River Camps.
